Seven Benefits of Sharing Your Faith, Part 3 of 7

The third benefit in becoming a sharing Christian is that you will experience the rewarding gratitude of those who have been saved. The Apostle Paul called the church he helped to plant at Philippi his joy and his crown (Philippians 4:1). Paul personally led many of them to faith. They were thankful to God and grateful to Paul. He was their spiritual parent. When you help someone come to faith, you will have that person's undying gratitude.

What I am describing is similar to the rewarding experience I had with my friend Steve. I was privileged to be one of several people who helped introduce Steve to Jesus. Steve and his whole family will never be the same. Steve became a changed man. He was no longer in bondage to alcohol. Steve saw over 100 other souls come to Christ in the first few years. When I saw Steve regularly he would tell me about the co-workers and neighbors he was sharing his new faith with. I loved it when he would call and tell me another person had been led to Christ. He told me several time how grateful he was for the people who came into his life and told him about Jesus.

It was not too many years ago when I was much like Steve. I was introduced to Jesus by a friend. He took the time and the chance to share with me and I will be forever grateful. He is no longer alive on this earth, but every soul and everything that is done in the name of Jesus by me, he has a part. He has a part because he brought Jesus to me. He will forever have my gratitude and undying friendship. As Jack Smith, former Associate Director for Personal Evangelism at the North American Mission Board said, “Friend’s don’t let friends drive drunk and friends don’t let friends miss heaven either.”

I challenge you today to make a commitment to be a sharing believer in Christ. Ask the Lord of the Harvest to send "fields that are white unto harvest" across your path. Generally, people are more willing to hear about spiritual things than we are to share. Don't miss any more blessings. Tell God you will be a sharing Christian and to bring those who need to hear across your path.
